The idea behind this recital is to explore many different kinds of two-person collaboration. In addition to performing with talented vocalists and instrumentalists in a wide range of musical styles, I'll be working with artists, dancers, and storytellers.  It looks like it'll be about a ninety-minute program, chock full of musical and artistic variety:

• Christopher Maier (storyteller) with CK (piano): a story about people in the Ice Age, with improvised musical accompaniment
• Rebecca Dengler (mezzo-soprano) with CK (pipe organ): "Vedrò con mio diletto" and "Squarciami pure il seno" by Antonio Vivaldi
• Paul Riola (tenor sax) with CK (electric guitar): a free improvisation involving electronic loops
• Charlotte Braud-Kern (mezzo-soprano) with CK (piano): "Come Away With Me" by Norah Jones
• Emily Brady (dancer) with CK (piano): "Hungarian Rhapsody no. 2" by Franz Liszt
          ~ intermission ~
• Katherine Hahn (visual artist) with CK (organ):  "Puer natus est nobis" and "Offrande et alleluia final" from Livre de Saint Sacrement by Olivier Messiaen
• John Hubert (baritone) with CK (piano): "Quatre chansons de Don Quichotte" by Jacques Ibert
• Dan Kaplan (alto sax) with CK (piano): "Cinq danses exotiques" by Jean Françaix
• Rory Cowal (electric piano) with CK (piano): "Spartacus Love Theme" by Alex North (based on Bill Evans' version from Conversations with Myself)
• David Roberts (piano) with CK (voice): "Maria" from West Side Story by Stephen Sondheim/Leonard Bernstein
• Rachel Brady with CK (piano): "Toccatina" by Nikolai Kapustin

The performers come from many different parts of my life; members of my church choir and congregation, members of my gamelan, musical colleagues from other churches, student dancers from Denver School of the Arts where I work part-time, and musician friends from Boulder and Denver.  This is a really fun opportunity for me to bring together the talents of so many people I know into one extravaganza.

Any questions about the concert, please contact me directly.

First Unitarian Society of Denver is located at the intersection of 14th Ave and Lafayette St, near the intersection of Park Ave and Colfax Ave.  To get there from Boulder, take 36-West to 25-South, then exit 213 (Park Ave, which is the left fork), then turn left on Stout, right on Park Ave West, right on Colfax, and left on Lafayette St.  There are plenty of free parking spaces available on the street.
